Phil the Chatty DM is holding a contest to get adventure synopses/hooks. The only catch? They have to be exactly 10 words.
Yours truly will be helping to judge, so head over there now and give me tons of good stuff to look at! (And steal ideas from!)

In lieu of Mr. Gary Gygax’s passing, Gamasutra has an pretty interesting introspective on how D&D has influenced, perhaps even birthed, the modern video game, especially in consideration to the RPG and Simulation genres. It’s quite insightful and well worth reading.
Registration MAY be required, but probably not.

Many years after Capcom vs. Marvel, the other side(s) have responded!
A Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe game looks to be in development (and has a brief Sub-Zero vs. Batman brawl trailer.)
I suppose in video games, ridiculous crossovers will never go out of style, no matter how advanced the graphics are!
Who wants to start the argument […]

Normally I don’t link to Penny Arcade, since telling gamers to read Penny Arcade is like telling ninjas to sneak around: it’s just gonna happen anyway.

In the run-up to Fourth Edition, WotC has promised that they will be doing updates and previews three times a week. (I promise we won’t post about every single one, just the interesting ones.)
Today’s update is a doozy: it’s all about the three tiers of play. It describes, generally, what you can do at each […]

Friends, brace yourselves.
I did not win the Loopin’ Louie World Championship this year either. In fact, I did not score a single win. (But did manage to rack up an impressive number of second place finishes.)
Other than that, I’ve had some neat game design career stuff happen, though no big announcements to make at this […]

I can’t believe it was a year ago today that I posted my mocking comic of Dave being a french-blob game designer, but today he left again for his “secret con” that maybe he’ll find some sneaky internet lurking around out there to update us all on how it’s going.
Keith Baker posted a great story […]
