Chatty’s World Tour 2008: Zurich, Basel and Penzberg

September 22, 2008 by The Chatty DM

A few weeks ago, I made a joke about feeling like a Rock Star right after Gen Con.

It was a quaint joke and I ran with it here and on Twitter for some time.  Pretending to be a Rock Star is probably no worse than an evil Overlord.

Well, here’s an occasion to to play with it some more.

Next month, from October 22 to 25, I will be in Switzerland for my Real Job®.  I will be meeting with Alex at the Zurich Central train station at 18h00 on the 22nd for a drink/dinner.  I’d love to meet any other Zurich based readers, if there are any.

I will be also in Basel on the 23rd and possibly in Penzberg, Germany on the 24th.

Since airfares are a usually lot cheaper when we stay over a Saturday, I could be somewhere between Munich and Zurich on Saturday and fly back on Sunday.

So if anyone in theses cities want to hook up, have a drink and or a meal, or even better, a game on that Saturday night, let me know in the comments or by email at chattydm@chattydm.net.

Rock on!

I am very lucky to have held jobs that required international travel.

I got to visit Paris, Madrid and Hamburg in Europe and several cities like Boston and Charlotte in the US.

Dammitall. Now I’ve got to find an excuse to slink off to Zurich too! 😀 😀 😀

Your job sends you to Zurich. My job is talking about possibly sending me to Richmond, KY.

Something in this doesn’t seem very fair 😉

@Greywulf: Yeah Id love to do a little Euro D&D 4e game… I’d slay you all with my French Canadian accent!

@Rev: I will most definitively bring back stuff… I usually buy Magic the Gathering cards in the local language.

@Tomcat: Yeah, I must say that I have it pretty cool with my current day job… if only it wasn’t interfering with my non-paying obsessive hobby so much!

    🙂

Well, I guess that’s where I have an advantage. I get paid good money to do very little, which leaves me time to monkey around with my non-paying hobbies 🙂

Damn so close and still that far away, would love to come since Zurich is pretty close to Vienna… Hope you’ve a good time there and enjoy your stay. If you ever make it to Vienna, (Austria) let me know.

I will. I plan to have a post like that whenever I go somewhere as I suspect I have at least one reader in most major cities of our beloved mudball.
