And now a little Farniente

April 29, 2008 by The Chatty DM

If y’all don’t mind, I’m going to take a night off and enjoy the ride this blog has become lately for 24 hours or so.

What with the contest and all, the Chatty minions have literally taken over and I love it!

Great thanks to Shamus Young, Jeff Rients, Johnn Four and all the other cool bloggers who have linked to this blog in the last few weeks and brought so many new readers.

Ah yes, please note that Lijit search has been broken for some time, apparently Google has re-indexed my blog in some weird way (maybe because I got a bump to a page-rank of 4?). They are working on it and I’ll let you know when it does.

I’ll re-instate the default search widget for the time being.

Peace out!

You are doing great. A wonderful contest.

What kind of plug-in do you use to seperate comments and track-backs? I just love that and don’t know how to do it.

    Karsten,

I’ll let Graham chip in later but I think it’s actually a tweak (or a feature) of the theme more than a plugin.

I found this on the web:
    http://www.ryanjparker.net/separating-pingbacks-and-trackbacks-from-comments-in-wordpress/

I’m not the blog’s technical wizard, I just write the posts… Graham saves my bacon about 10 times a day with all the technical stuff.

Thanks for the hint. It looks a lot more technical than I can manage. I hoped for a simple plug-in… *sigh*

So your site keeps being better then mine. Thanks to Graham. Maybe you should thank him by giving him a higher rank among your minions… 🙂

PS: Every time I post here, I am again amazed at your spam protection… its just great.

    Thanks man,

Let Graham chime in later, we might both be surprised.

I actually owe him the equivalent of a X-Box 360, hopefully I’ll be able to give it to him someday 🙂

Thanks… the Spam protection is the Peter’s Anti-Spam plugin where I edited the captchas to polyhedral dice (It’s actually easy to edit, I could do it!).

As for the backend stuff, it’s Akismet and Trackback Validator.

    Hi Karsten,

It is a function of the theme, and it wasn’t actually me that coded it.

    I mean… uh… it was all me! I’m great! Yeah! 😛

The process itself is fairly straightforward, even if the code is somewhat more complex. If you want to know more about it, check out the theme itself (link at the bottom of the page to dkret3) or contact me and I can help guide you through it. You can email me through the email at my website.
