Inq. of the Week: Fury vs. Fury

Over the weekend, we were fortunate enough to have not one, not two, not three, but FOUR quality reviews!

Thus, I declared it to be unofficial review weekend! As the summer continues, we’ll be sure to bring you more of our impressions of new products, from as many different people as I can talk into it.

Last week, we asked if you were a multi-classer, or not, or sometimes. All throughout the week the voting was neck and neck between single-classing all the way and multi-classing every time. At the end, it seems that the single classers have edged out by 1 vote. The sometimes option was not that far behind either. It just shows it takes all types to make a party.

joshx0rfz suggested the following poll, despite being a self-proclaimed ignoramus of comicdom. Unless you are awesome at avoiding spoilers (and here comes one), you know that post-credits in Iron Man features Sam Jackson as Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD, recruiting for something. To date, only one other flesh and blood actor has dared take on the role of the cigar-chomping, eye-patch wearing superspy and that man, of course, is The Hoff.

So the obvious question is:

Who’s the superior Nick Fury?

    Sammy J, all the way.

Don’t hassle the hoff. Besides, THE HOFF has an entire movie to properly develop Nick Fury. Sammy J just had a couple of lines. Having watched the entirety of the first glorious attempt to bring Nick Fury to the screen I must say that Hoff brings pathos and real acting chops to the role.

Oh yeah… Samuel too… who cares about the fact that Shield is white!

Maybe the Hoff could play Shaft in the next remake.

    :)

No seriously I’m not enough of a fan to care about Nick Shield’s ethnicity.

When a persona is so big that he is literally able to play a part in comics without lifting a single finger, that’s something to get excited about.

I think the more interesting question is who should play “Am I insane? Maybe…” Thor and Cap. But that’s an inquisition/debate for another day.

Sammy J, totally. If he can make me purchase Snakes on a Plane, he can do anything.

By the way, thanks for the Kudos.

    I’ll gladly do it again!

Somehow, I missed even hearing about Hoff’s Nick Fury when it originally came out. Really, it’s a question of whether you prefer the Ultimates version or the original.

The Hoff’s version… well, it’s almost exactly what you’d expect. That’s probably the best thing I can say about it.

Samuel L. MF Jackson is superior to the Hoff in every way except in exciting German music fans.

I think the real question is who would win in a fight…that’s really the only question that matters when you get two hams going toe to toe in the same role…
