Oh so long ago, we asked if the recently announced Starcraft 2 should increase the number of races in the game, and if so, what they should be. Most of you said that you’d rather keep it simple and maintain the balance in the game by having the original three races and nobody else. Coming in second is some kind of hypothetical Zerg/Protoss hybrid race, which I will call the ZergToss (which is also the name of one of their deadliest attacks.)
With a great season of tv coming to an end, and qualities running all over the map throughout the season for each of these great shows, I thought I’d ask:
Which of these shows had the best season finale?

Speaking of tv, SciFiChick has a great post on her blog about all the science fiction and fantasy tv shows premiering next fall on network tv. Maybe as it gets closer to the new season and we find out more about each of these shows, we’ll ask which of these you’re most looking forward to (just as we asked months ago about certain shows!)

That’s actually not true, as only 17 out of 52 real votes were for keeping the original 3 races only. That does constitute a plurality but NOT a majority. MOST of the people (not bots) that voted (i.e. the other 35 out of 52) were favorable to adding at least 1 new race to the game. Now, there were differences of opinion as to what exactly that race would be, but it is definately true that MOST people who took part in the survey did NOT want just the original 3 races. Which, by the way, is the exact opposite of your quoted claim above!

It’s a minor issue of semantics. The most people voted for the entry “keep the original 3 races.” I wouldn’t consider the Space Orks and Cowboys to be realistic answers anyway, and if we wanted to be really technical we’d have to figure out what the combined answer of Robots and Xel’Naga means.

I voted for Heroes because it was the best one between it and Battlestar, but I would hardly give it a rave review.

It is an issue of semantics, but I don’t think it’s minor. The difference between more and most, and between plurality and majority, may be a ‘minor’ semantical difference in ordinary contexts…but in the context of surveys and polls, such differences are very important! In fact, finding out differences like that are kind of the whole point of surveys - and hence the whole reason for having the weekly polls on this website :-).
I’m not trying to insult anyone’s intelligence here, just trying to point out a mistake - that’s all. The majority of people wanted at least 1 additional race. That’s the truth, even if you discount answers for space orks and cowboys. I can’t be all bad for telling the truth, can I?

I voted for Heroes, but that was the only one I saw.
I’m pretty sure that I would have voted for that anyway, so I win by de-fault.

I voted Lost on this one…Heroes was a damn good finale, but Lost won by being the greater of two greats…Nathan sacrificing himself seemed cheesy…but Charlie sacrificing ‘imself was just heart-wrenching…
Plus lost had more vehicular manslaughter…Woo, Hurley!…

I don’t watch Lost, and from what I’ve heard the finale was very good. However, it’d be hard to top Hiro’s last line: “Oh #$&%!”

Honestly, the spoilers I left were minimal…a LOT more happened in the finale then just those major events…

Plus, Charlie’s death has been foreshadowed all season…watch any one episode of it, and you’ll know…

To quote myself in the post above: “beware of spoilers for those of you who are not up to date on your tv viewing!” So Charlie’s death (in either Heroes or Lost) is fair game, along with a bunch of people who are Cylons.
