Wii Want Journalism!

Submitted by The Game on Wednesday, September 13, 2006No Comment

Supposedly any minute now, Nintendo is supposed to announce the Japanese price and release date for the Wii (from which we can extrapolate the US facts), but nothing seems to be happening yet. But people in the comments are claiming that pre-festival, they played the Wii (it’s awesome) and the US price is going to be $199. I’m hoping to know something soon, and there’s supposed to be a similar event for the US tomorrow to lock everything in. $199 is probably as low as they can go, so I’m hoping that’s true, but I also want them to say the release date is October 1st or something soon.

While looking for info, I was reminded about the Justice League game coming out.

Gameplay will probably be generic, but isn’t it a cool idea?

[UPDATE] While it looks like the announcement was later than many were expecting, Gamespot is citing tomorrow’s New York Times as a source: The Wii will be $250, and be released on November 19th (3 days after the PS3 launch). and will come packaged with Wii Sports. It’ll also come packaged with two one controller w/ “nunchuk”, and there will be 25+ titles available at launch. This is still in rumor territory, as we’ve already seen several “inside source” stories be wrong, but Gamespot seems more confidant.
