X-Man-aganza!

The first, or at least what I believe to be the first, images of X-Men 3 have been released to the public. There is a short article written about it on USA Today that, if you’re anything like me, you will only skim and quickly jump to the pictures and stare curiously at lies within.

Now it’s absolutely no surprise that this movie is receiving boat loads of crap and mud slung in its direction, on top of the rampant speculation as to whether or not it will “suck hardc0re” or if it will live up to people’s highest hopes and attain the “Not-as-good-as-Singer-but-not-as-awful-as-Batman-and-Robin” status. Then again, nothing short of Wolverine running amidst the mountains singing to the Sound of Music could make X-3 as bad as the aforementioned piece of shite.

It is unfortunate, as Bryan Singer must have immediately realized that the franchise would fall under heavy questioning upon his departure. I don’t even remember there being this much doubt about the very first X-Men movie, at which point we had just as little idea how it would turn out, if not less. In fact, I don’t remember much of my life prior to the 7th minute of the first X-Men when Hugh Jackman popped the three shiniest of shinies from betwixt his knuckles and pwned every fanboy in existence. Oh man that was freakin’ sweet! The second movie was as good as/if not better then the first one, in my and most everyone’s opinions. But there was the sense that it couldn’t keep going.

The casting seems to be solid, as no one can possibly suggest anyone better to play Dr. Hank McCoy then Kelsey Grammar, and there are no tell-tale signs such as Jim Carrey as the Riddler (although I enjoyed his performance quite a bit) or, god forbid, Arnold Schwarzeneggar as Mr. Freeze. Sorry, I didn’t mean to remind you all, but the pain helps over time.

I have faith in this movie, though, as I have faith in just about everything. Here’s hoping!

Wolverine wasn’t in The Sound of Music, he was in Oklahoma:

The X-3 teaser trailer is up at http://www.apple.com/trailers/

It doesn’t show a whole lot, but you get some glimpses of all the characters and the fact that it looks like a 2 hour action romp.

The entire time I watch this movie, I’m sure I’ll have the song “Tossed Salad and Scrambled Eggs” stuck in my head……especially when Beast breaks cars in half and such….

Along those lines, whereas I think Kelsey Grammar was a great choice to play Beast, I think the makeup job is pretty bad and he looks like a Blue Hellboy. Not only that, but I’ll be watching the movie and keep expecting him to step on a rake ala Sideshow Bob.
